The Angry Ghost Night
![]() One night Jim and his girlfriend Joey got in such a fight in this room it was crazy. This was the same weekend someone had actually slept in the dungeon-like hotel basement, a first, and the person used a lot of sage to cleanse the air, which caused every last fly in the basement to soar upstairs. It was like a plague had swept through the building. The guys actually had to use a vacuum cleaner to suck all the fat flies from the first floor front windows! It
grew into a very surreal weekend. Everyone was fighting. The building
itself seemed irritable. Flies that had not been a part of the household
were suddenly everywhere. Sage smoke was everywhere in the halls. It was
a strange 72 hours. And somehow much of the explosion of energy seemed
to happen in Jim's room, room #12. When
Jim was asked the next day on camera to describe the crazy night before
here in the hotel with his girlfriend, he said this about their unusual
experience: "We'd be laying there and something felt different. It
didn't feel the same up there last night. We would lay down -just be laying
there and all of a sudden she would just sit bolt up in bed and her eyes
would be wide open. And she just kept asking me, 'If we're here, whose
in there?' I didn't understand what that meant. I think it had something
to do with Jon being in the basement all night. I think things were moving
around in the house. "My girlfriend stays with me quite often. It was just really different last night. It was just really- We could both feel something else -in there. It was like a presence in the room. And -she wasn't herself. She seemed like two people. Like, she would snap back into being herself. And then all of a sudden be overcome by some kind of feeling. And I'd have to shake her -literally shake her out of it. So I don't really know..." "And what do you think is going on with all these flies?" I asked. "I don't know a lot about flies." Jim continued, "I know they weren't here yesterday, or any other day, and now they are. I know he burned a lot of sage so maybe they're trying to get away." "It's
weird there's flies all over. So many." I commented. "You'll have to talk to her about it." Jim replied, reviewing his evening, "Pretty intense stuff." "Do you think there was an energy shift in the hotel?" "Yeah."
Jim confirmed, nodding. "She thought I was doing it to her at first.
She thought I was like hypnotizing her. And she kept getting mad at me.
And at first I thought, well, maybe something is going on. maybe somehow
I hypnotized he, like, without even knowing it. After that weekend the flies were never seen again. No
one has slept in the basement since. Joey later wrote:
